We are thrilled to share with you that our client, Pacific Breeze Winery in New Westminster are expanding drastically this month following a boom in demand for its premium wines.

"Pacific Breeze winery has picked up 50 international wine making awards since the winery opened in 2005 and opened its doors to the public in 2007", proudly explains Suzanna de Souza. 

"The awards have helped create that demand and buzz in the wine industry," she said. "It's forced us into expansion because demand is so high. We have some really big accounts and we've recently taken over the space next door, which doubles our size."

The facility will now take up 6,000 square feet.

"We're using it for production, and we're going to be creating a corporate meeting facilities and a lounge and a larger tasting room," de Souza said. 

They will also be be hiring more tasting room staff and presenters to keep up with this growth.

Social Media is an extremely powerful way for sports team to market and communicate.


The Vancouver Whitecaps Football / Soccer Club has added an interesting use of social media to their website.


Now, thanks to these two GigaPan photographs from Ronnie Miranda,http://173.203.18.202/news/2011/03/mls-debut-gigap...   fans can zoom in and find themselves and their friends.  The images stitch together more than 200 photos totaling over 2000 megapixels.  In addition, Vancouver Whitecaps FC is the first Canadian entity to use the GigaTag feature, which allows fans to tag themselves via their Facebook account.

Top 10 Visited Websites in 2010 - social media                     2010 Top 10 web search terms hyperion hitwise social media


Interesting 2010 statistics on the top 10 most searched terms on the internet in the US just released by HitWise.


In analyzing the top 1000 search terms for 2011 and Facebook was the top-searched term overall. This is the second year that the social networking website has been the top search term overall. Four variations of the term "facebook" were among the top 10 terms and accounted for 3.48 percent of searches overall.


YouTube was the third most-searched term in 2010, followed by craigslist, myspace and facebook.com. Analysis of the search terms revealed that social networking-related terms dominated the results, accounting for 4.18 percent of the top 50 searches.


New terms that entered into the top 50 search terms for 2010 included - netflix, verizon wireless, espn, chase, pogo, tagged, wells fargo, yellow pages, poptropica, games and hulu.

Interesting 2010 statistics on the top 10 most visited websites in the US just released by HitWise.


The top 10 Websites accounted for 33 percent of all U.S. visits between January and November 2010, an increase of 12 percent versus 2009.

People's high connection with social media is show by the majority of the top website visits being social media sites, or sites which incorporating social media into their site to engage people.

Interesting. All of these sites signficantly rely from content contributed by the public. 

This gives these sites 2 ongoing competitive advantages:


  1. All this additional fresh content really helps with search engine optimization (SEO), increasing their search engine rank.

  2. This engagement and participation also tightens and builds the ongoing connection with the users.

Facebook was the top-visited Website for the first time and accounted for nearly 9% percent of all U.S. website visits between January and November 2010.  This is a significant jump from third place last year.

Google.com ranked second with 7% percent of visits, followed by Yahoo! Mail (3.5% percent), Yahoo! 3.3% percent) and YouTube (2.65 percent).  

Some of these sites are owned by the same company. The combination of Google properties accounted for 9.85 percent of all U.S. visits. Facebook properties accounted for 8.93 percent, and Yahoo! properties accounted for 8.12 percent.
